Edwin Ubiles and the #9 seed Sienna Saints fell to the overall #1 seed Louisville Cardinals tonight in Dayton, Ohio in the second round of the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The loss ended the Saints season, with an overall record of 27-8. This was the second trip in a row to the NCAA Tournament for the Saints. They played an exceptional game against Louisville and had them on the ropes. The Saints led 63-59 with 7:20 left in the second half. However, Louisville regrouped and beat Sienna 79-72. Edwin Ubiles, from Poughkeepsie, NY and an Edge Athletics Alumni, was named the Chevrolet Player of the Game for Sienna after he scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Edwin finished the season averaging 14.8 points-per-game and 4.8 rebounds-per-game. Sienna had a great year and only graduate three seniors, Josh Duell, Erik Harris, and Kenny Hasbrouck.
